Good afternoon, everyone! The weekend is in sight! Although the weather today is grey and slushy, it is technically the first day of spring. With spring comes farmers markets opening up and fresh, local, fruits/vegetables readily available. Since March is National Nutrition Month we can celebrate with healthy, fresh, meal combinations. I love posting healthy recipes (surprise), and although I am no longer a vegetarian myself, I know many of our members are. Vegetarian diets can be a great and healthy option. Obviously fruits and vegetables are a staple for a non-meat eater, but it is also important to get protein. Protein is not only found in meat but can be found in legumes and grains as well. Protein helps satiate hunger and build muscle.With that in mind, today I am featuring a "build your own plant-based bowl" info graphic from BlogHer. Plant-based bowls are an awesome and filling meal for any time of day. They are like a salad, but loaded with even more nutrients than your typical garden variety.
