Happy Friday!!
So I wanted to talk today about vitamins. These are essential nutrients that your body needs. You can acquire your daily amount through a well balanced diet. Let's be real though, most of us don't eat a perfectly well balanced diet. The following diagram talks about individual vitamins and gives examples of what foods to find them in. In terms of supplements, be aware that taking too many can be harmful and you should do some research and even speak with your physician before taking them.. My suggestion would be to start adding in a few of these foods instead!
Fat Soluble Vitamins - these vitamins can be found in fatty and animal foods and are stored in your body. You need these vitamins daily but you don't necessarily need to eat them daily due to the fact they get stored.
Examples: A, D, E, and K
Water Soluble Vitamins - these vitamins can be found in a wide range of food and are not stored in the body. They can be destroyed by heat or lost in water while cooking so it's better to steam or grill foods with them.
Examples: B, C, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin
