Hi all my blogger friends! Hope you're having a most excellent week, and I just want to remind you that you are MORE than halfway to the weekend! So on that note, I have a fun and easy body weight workout for you today that targets some problem areas (butts and guts) and gets the heart rate up to blast away those calories! This workout has a mixture of traditional reps and cardio TABATA. I promise it will kick your butt in a short amount of time...literally! So before you talk yourself out of it here it is.
Butts & Guts & Cardio....Oh My!
Jumping Jacks TABATA
20 seconds of jacks
10 seconds of rest
-repeat 8 times (4 min total)-
50 Bicycle Crunches
Frog Jump TABATA
20 seconds of frog jumps
10 seconds of rest
-repeat 8 times (4 min total)-
Glute Pulses
Pulse the heel towards the ceiling
1 min each leg
Mountain Climbers TABATA
while holding a plank, quickly alternate bringing your knee into your chest
20 seconds of mountain climbers
10 seconds of rest
-repeat 8 times (4 min total)-
"Running" Core Exercise
crunching up, alternating bringing opposite elbow to knee, quickly ( upper body and legs never come fully back to the group once you begin)
2 sets of 30 seconds
High Knees Running in Place TABATA
20 seconds of high knees
10 seconds of rest
-repeat 8 times (4 min total)-
......and you're done!
Your body may not thank me tonight, or even tomorrow, but you'll be thankful come spring : )
Remember to stretch and rehydrate!
