A Smoothie That Packs a Punch! (of nutrients)

Hey there everyone! Hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend. For those of you who are Patriots fans, congrats, and to those of you who are Seahawks fans....yikes. Sorry! I am not a fan of either team so I will remain neutral : )

Today I am going to let you in on a little secret, well actually it is a big secret......I am going to teach you how to make leafy greens, taste GOOD. I know what you're thinking, this is probably some post where she makes macaroni and cheese with spinach in it again, and tries to pass it off as comfort food. Fear not. Green smoothies are my new favorite thing (well not exactly new) but I am going to show you the light. They are very easy to make and I love making a few and keeping them in the freezer. Then you just grab one, throw it in your lunch and you basically have (healthy) dessert waiting for you in all of it's bright green glory! I pinky promise that these smoothies taste nothing like they look. Plus they are so good for you, packed with nutrients, and an energy boost!

To make things easier (and because I like playing with new software) I have created a handy info graphic for you on how to make an awesome green smoothie.

It is pretty easy to create a great tasting smoothie! I will share what my favorite version has been lately. Plain Liquid Low-fat Kefir (you can find this in the yogurt aisle)+ Baby Spinach + Frozen Pineapple + Shredded Coconut. I kid you not, if you close  your eyes (and sit next the heating vent) you might be able to fool yourself into thinking you're on a tropical beach. Or something like that.....

Enjoy!
