Sun Safety!!

It's Friday!!

Before you head out into the hot summer sun, let's talk about ways to protect yourself from sun damage.  It's important to protect your skin because excessive sun damage can lead to skin cancer.  It also causes wrinkles, discoloration, and freckles.  People with lighter skin are more susceptible to skin cancer but anyone can get it.  This doesn't just mean when you're out at the beach.  Tanning booths have the same effect on your skin.  You especially have to be careful on cloudy days as UV rays penetrate through the clouds, even when you think you're safe.  Here are a few extra tidbits on sunscreen and places to apply that you might forget.  Stay safe with sunglasses, hats, and long sleeves if you know you are going to be outside a while and always re apply!

The sunshine can be dangerous... no matter where you are... be smart and safe on Spring Break! http://blog.americansafetycouncil.com/spring-break-sun-safety/:

People tend to overlook nine areas when applying sunscreen to their faces — corners of the eyes, lower eyelids, tops of ears, upper hairline, creases of the nose, skin under the nostrils, lips, the area between upper lip and nose, and the lips — leaving them vulnerable to cancer-causing rays.:
