Body Composition: The In's and Out's



Hey Everyone!

So today let's touch upon body composition.  Summer weather will be right around the corner and I know you're already starting to ramp up your exercise and diet program in order to hit your goals.  One of the many perks of being a member at JOHO is that we offer free fitness assessments!  Using skin fold calipers, we can measure your body fat percentage so you can track your progress.  We can also take circumference measurements to track changes in inches around places like your waist and hips.  While this specific diagram talks about weight loss, keep in mind that we can also do these assessments if you are trying to gain as well.  Pay special attention to what are the best ways to track your weight loss progress and how to get the most accurate body fat readings.  

We are also having our RMR screening next week!  Be sure to sign up at the link below.  This is also a useful tool for the summer because "Resting Metabolic Rate" tells you exactly how many calories your body needs a day in order to function.  If you add in your daily activity then it can give you an estimate of how many calories you should be cutting, adding, or keeping the same.
