Relieving Muscle Soreness

Happy Friday,

What have I been hearing all week?  Oh my gosh Sam my muscles are sooooo sore!  As you find your way back into fitness and your diet, here are some great tips on combating soreness.  But first, a fun fact.  

Did you know that the soreness you feel 24-48 hours after your workout is not due to a build up of lactic acid?  Lactic acid only affects your body during and directly after a workout until it is flushed out as you recover.  Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS is what you feel a day or two after your workout.  It is most likely caused from inflammation due to micro tears in the muscle tissue.
