Rest and Recovery

Hey All,

I hope you had a wonderful and eventful weekend.  :)  I have talked a lot about different workouts and motivational aspects of fitness.  I wanted to take a look at the other side of it today.  A proper rest and recovery is just as critical in your training regimen as the workouts itself!

"The reality of exercise is that you don’t make progress when you work out—you make progress when you recover from the workout."

The opening line of this article is what drew me in because common thought would have us thinking differently.  Jonathon Ross highlights the importance of resting and recovering from a workout.  He addresses why recovery is crucial for improvement and how to know when to take it.  Whether it's putting recovery time into your lifting schedule or stacked within your cardio regimen, adding that time in allows for repair, replenishment, and helps push your training to the MAX!

**Remember to include a post workout meal within an hour to help aid the recovery process!  Try a greek yogurt with granola or a tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread.**
