Get out and breathe some fresh air!

Good morning, everyone! Hasn't this weather been awesome?? So nice that the extra hour of daylight and warmer temperatures decided to arrive together! I don't know about you, but just getting outside in the fresh air always has a positive effect on my mood and just makes me feel better overall. Well, there is actually some scientific backing for this outdoors feel-good effect. Studies have shown that getting outside has the following benefits (and more!):

1. Vitamin D boost
Vitamin D has increasingly been shown to be important the health of our immune system, hormonal balance and overall wellness. Our body produces vitamin D in response to exposure to sunlight.

2. Reset your internal clock
Being exposed to natural sunlight helps regulate our circadian rhythms that control our sleep patterns. This is the reason experts recommend getting natural sunlight to combat jet lag.

3. Unplug
Heading outside allows us the opportunity to unplug from screens and technology. This can help us develop a clearer mindset and can have beneficial effects on blood pressure and anxiety.

4.Calm Down
Spending time in nature has been shown to decrease levels of stress and improve mood by calming the sympathetic nervous system.
