Do the calorie counts mean
anything to you?

We can no longer blame ignorance for consuming high caloric meals when we go out. In hopes that putting consumers face to face with their potential caloric intake would help them choose a more healthy option, more and more restaurants are posting the calories right beside the mouth watering descriptions of their food.
Now, the real question:

Are consumers actually doing that?

A recent survey done by the New York University School of Medicine found that very few actually pay attention to the calorie counts. Even if people saw them, rarely did the nutritional information influence their eating choices.

So, do the numbers influence you?

Perhaps, they don't stop you from taking that brownie or getting the extra cheese, but maybe they influence your workout after! If you know that cookie is really 200 more calories than you thought... perhaps you'll spend an extra 20 minutes on the treadmill tonight!

Just some food for thought......
