Saturday, September 28 is Family Fitness Day!
Here are some at-home tips to use for incorporating fitness with your family this weekend: 


· Practice safe balances and active play during TV commercials.

· See how many steps you and your family can achieve on a pedometer while at home.

· Start a weekly family sports match with a sport of your choice.

· Select physical activity-oriented gifts with recipients skills and interests in mind.

· Use physical activity as a reward (ex: the whole family goes inline skating!).

· Create a scavenger hunt in the backyard and have a race to see who can find everything first.

· Plan a daily post-dinner walk for the whole family.

· Create a garden and have each family member plant their own produce and/or flowers.

· Jump rope while practicing spelling or multiplication.

· Encourage children to act out stories as they are being read aloud.

· Turn on lively music while completing household tasks and dance with the family!
